The perks of Being a Wallflower

We greet you, unknown connoisseur of literature. If you are reading this text, then Kenyon Sherrilyn's Dark Embrace has grabbed your attention for a reason. Extraordinary and unusual heroes draw attention to themselves, these characters noticeably enliven the picture of what is happening. It seems incredible, but the elusive, magical, rare and extremely kind mood is quite clearly and highly successfully conveyed in words. A captivating mystery, the intricacies of events, the ambiguity of facts and the paradox of sensations were ingeniously woven into this story. The unexpected, difficult-to-predict last scene and subsequent problems are deeply engaging, leaving room for independent conjectures of the future. Light and sophisticated humor is served in moderate doses, allowing you to rest and relax from the main stream of information. The idea of the superiority of good over evil, light over darkness, with an obvious victory of the first and defeat of the second, is seen, which is relevant at all times. Skillful use of visual images by the writer creates a fundamentally new, transformed world, energetic and saturated with colors. Attention is drawn to how easily the text rhymes with modernity and has no shades of the past or the future, because it is relevant at all times. In addition to engaging, engaging and interesting storytelling, the plot also retains consistency and sequence of events. The plot unfolds in a picturesque place that easily forms the basis and becomes almost familiar and as if familiar from childhood. "Dark Embrace" Kenyon Sherrilyn can be read online for free with admiration, with indignation, but impossible with indifference.

Do you believe in miracles? Hold it tight! You have in your hands a magical storehouse of wisdom, irony and one hundred percent.

1. "Drive" (Drive), 2011

The already cult film by Nicholas Winding Refn about a young man (Ryan Gosling) who works as a stuntman during the day and as a robbery driver at night. In order to avoid spoilers, we will not say anything more about the plot, but it is worth mentioning that it was after this film that Gosling became widely known. Brilliant direction, soundtracks, well-written characters and atmosphere - that's what Drive is worth watching.

2. "Seven" (Seven), 1995

A film by the master of thrillers David Fincher, which tells the story of two detectives played by Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt, investigating a series of brutal murders. The detectives come to the conclusion that the victims of the maniac symbolize the seven deadly sins. The film was shot at the highest level, so we advise you not to look into the cast, so as not to deprive yourself of the pleasure of finding out the identity of the main antagonist when watching.

3. "Remember" (Memento), 2000

A film by Christopher Nolan that earned him the title of cult director. The main character, Leonard, played by Guy Pearce, is trying to find his wife's killer. And it could have been a stereotyped detective story, if not for one "but": the hero suffered a severe trauma that prevents him from retaining memories for longer than 15 minutes. To the pluses of the film, you can add a reverse narration: the scenes go in reverse order and are diluted with inserts from the very beginning. In general, this picture can break your brain - be careful.

4. "Payback" (1999)

The plot of the film does not shine with particular originality, at least because the line is built on a thirst for revenge. But despite the primitive plot, the picture takes on its atmosphere, music, thoughtful dialogues, acting (here it should be noted, first of all, Mel Gibson). All this is at the highest level.

5. Blue Velvet, 1986

A painting by David Lynch about a guy who, due to his father's illness, was forced to leave college and return to his hometown. Not far from the house, Jeffrey finds ... a human ear - and from that very moment the hero will have to go through a series of mysterious and terrible events.

6. "Fight Club" (1999)

Another film by David Fincher, which is simply impossible not to mention in this collection. You can object by asking what this picture has in common with neo-noir, but if you think about it, then the style, atmosphere, narration and images of the main and secondary characters refer it to this particular genre.

The main character, played by Edward Norton, suffers from insomnia and hates his boring life. Once on the plane, he meets a strange man - Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt), who is his complete opposite. From that moment on, the life of the protagonist changes abruptly.

7. Law Abiding Citizen, 2009

The main character Clyde (Gerard Butler) learns that the district attorney has released the murderer of his wife and child from prison. Then Clyde decides to administer justice on his own, and without even leaving behind bars.

8. "Fracture" (2007)

The assistant district attorney (Ryan Gosling) gets caught up in a game with the man who killed his wife. Ted (Anthony Hopkins) calls the police himself, refuses a lawyer, admits guilt and with his whole appearance shows that he does not care about the course of the case, but soon events begin to develop in his favor.

9. "Collateral" (2004)

Taxi driver Max (Jamie Foxx) picks up a gray-haired man in a gray suit (Tom Cruise) who turns out to be a hitman. He is amazed at Max's driving skills and asks him to make five stops in different parts of the city. So at first, an unsuspecting taxi driver finds himself drawn into a dangerous game, from which it is unlikely to get out alive.

10. Taking Lives, 2004

The brutal killer terrorizing the city has successfully eluded justice for about 20 years. The detectives are at a dead end: the perpetrator uses the identities of his victims, their credit cards, even pays taxes for them. The case goes to FBI agent Illyana Scott (Angelina Jolie), who is known for her unconventional approach to investigations.

11. Kill Bill: Vol. 1, 2003

The film, or rather, several paintings by Quentin Tarantino at once, in the center of the plot of which is a young woman Beatrix (Uma Thurman), in the past - a hired killer. During the wedding ceremony, she is shot by a man named Bill. Beatrix survives and, coming out of a coma, decides to take revenge on everyone who betrayed her.

12. Sin City, 2005

The cast of the film, based on the comic book of the same name, is very impressive: Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Clive Owen, Jessica Alba, Benicio Del Toro. The directing trio - Quentin Tarantino, Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez - created one of the darkest films in this collection. Corrupt police, dark characters, brutal crimes - all this is doubled here.

13. Nightcrawler, 2014

Jake Gyllenhaal's protagonist Louis is looking for a job. After he sees a group of guys busy filming a car accident, he changes the stolen bike for a camera and starts working as a photojournalist. And it turns out that for the sake of another sensation, Louis can go too far.

14. "Justified cruelty" (A History of Violence), 2005

Armed robbers break into a small eatery in the quiet town of Millbrook. Diner owner Tom (Viggo Mortensen) kills criminals, gaining the title of local hero. But the next day, strangers appear in the city, who call Tom by another name and pester him with questions about Philadelphia.

15. The Ice Harvest, 2005

Christmas Eve, Kansas. Lawyer Charlie Arglist (John Cusack) has robbed the mafia boss Bill Gerard (Randy Quaid) and is forced into hiding with his accomplice and the owner of a strip club. The killer, looking for Charlie, is already on the way, but the thieves themselves, due to a coincidence of circumstances, make a small stop: the road has turned into a huge ice rink, so they will have to wait until morning.
